Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Casey DeSmith allowed just one goal on 18 shots in his team's 5-1 defeat of the Dallas Stars on Wednesday, earning his fourth victory of the season. Not expected to carry much fantasy relevance prior to the season, DeSmith has emerged as a legitimate goaltending option over the first seven weeks of the NHL season. Not only has the 27-year-old started in eight of the Penguin's last nine games he has posted excellent numbers thus far - a 2.39 goals-against average and a .924 save percentage. While it might not be set in stone just yet, Pittsburgh is relying upon DeSmith as the team's number-one goalie at the moment.
