Carter Kieboom 2020 Outlook: MLB-Ready Bat with Power Potential
5 years agoThe World Series champion Washington Nationals organization is set to shake things up in the infield. The club could see new starters at three defensive positions with only shortstop Trea Turner returning from the 2019 season. That’s great news for Carter Kieboom owners as a strong spring could help him win the starting gig at third base as the club somewhat surprisingly chose to bring in free agent Starlin Castro to play second base and also resigned veteran utility player Asdrubal Cabrera. He’s been an above-average hitter throughout his pro career and should hit for a solid average, post excellent on-base numbers and produce 20 or more home runs — especially if he hits the ball in the air more consistently. The only thing he really doesn’t do in standard fantasy formats is steal bases. Kieboom has additional value in on-base leagues as he’s posted walk rates above 10% in each of the past three seasons. The young infielder received an 11-game trial in the Majors in 2019 that didn’t go so well when he got homer-happy after going deep twice in his first three games.
