Carson Wentz Activated From IR, Will Back Up Taylor Heinicke
2 years agoThe Washington Commanders activated quarterback Carson Wentz (finger) from Injured Reserve on Monday, and he'll now serve as the backup to Taylor Heinicke moving forward. With Heinicke playing well since Wentz landed on Injured Reserve due to a broken finger, Washington will continue starting Heinicke under center. The 29-year-old Wentz hasn't played since Week 6, and he required surgery to fix his broken right ring finger. Before his injury, Wentz had completed 62.1 percent of his 232 pass attempts for 1,489 yards, 10 touchdowns and six interceptions in six starts in his first year in D.C. He should only be rostered in deep two-QB leagues or dynasty/keeper leagues.
