6 years ago2018 was somewhat a lost season for Carson Wentz. However, in just 11 games he amassed 3,072 yards with 21 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Even with the injury concerns surrounding him, the Eagles felt good enough to let Nick Foles go to the Jaguars and throw their full support behind Wentz for 2019. If the Eagles, a well-run organization, is willing to be confident in him, so should we. Before his torn ACL against the Rams in 2017 Wentz was on pace to be the NFL MVP and would have finished as the number one fantasy quarterback for the season. Finishing with 33 touchdowns and seven interceptions he still finished as the QB4 and made the Pro Bowl, as he got Philadelphia into position at 11-2 to get home field advantage. Alshon Jeffrey and Zach Ertz, his two main targets are still there and along with them are additional players in Jordan Howard, Dallas Goedert and rookie Miles Sanders which should allow him to thrive yet again. Reports out of Philadelphia are that Wentz is a full go in OTA’s with no limitations, and a full offseason of work with his team will make for a wonderful season in the city of brotherly love. Being taken in drafts as the ninth quarterback behind Drew Brees, and just ahead of Jared Goff means his eighth-round price is not reflective of his ability to finish as the QB1 this season. Although this may not be the likeliest of results, he must be in consideration as the offense in Philadelphia will run through him. Additionally, with DeSean Jackson back in town to fill the deep threat role, Wentz will have a player to catch those deep balls. If Wentz holds up and the offense is what it should be, then the sky is the limit for Wentz in 2019.
