Carlos Correa, Astros Settle At $11.7 Million
4 years agoHouston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa and the team settled his arbitration case, and the star shortstop will make $11.7 million in 2021. Correa had submitted $12.5 million in salary arbitration, while the Astros were at $9.75 million. The 26-year-old hit .264/.326/.383 with a career-low .709 OPS and 92 OPS+ along with five home runs, 25 RBI and no stolen bases in 58 games in the shortened 2020 season. An All-Star in 2017 when he hit .315 with a career-high 24 home runs and 84 RBI, Correa slashed .279/.358/.568 with a .926 OPS, 21 home runs and 59 RBI in 75 games in his last full season in 2019 with the 'Stros. At a stacked position in fantasy, Correa no longer even qualifies as a top-10 shortstop, especially since he has only six steals since 2017. At a current ADP of 127, there's no reason you should be overpaying for him.
