Carlos Carrasco Strains Hamstring Thursday
Carlos Carrasco (hamstring) threw a 20-pitch live batting practice session on Thursday and reportedly strained his right hamstring during the follow-up conditioning work. Before the news broke that Carrasco suffered the hamstring strain, Mets manager Luis Rojas stated that the team believed Carrasco would be ready for his first rotation turn in April. However, with this news, it is now unlikely Carrasco will be ready by Opening Day. If he is forced to miss any additional time during spring training, it is all but certain he will miss at least one turn at the start of the season. The Mets have indicated Carrasco will have an MRI on the hamstring and once the results are provided, they will have a more clear picture of the injury.
