Colorado Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar has been suspended for one game for his actions in Game 4 against Seattle. He was called for an interference penalty in Monday's game after he caught Seattle's Jared McCann along the boards with a late hit. The Kraken's top regular-season scorer needed medical attention on the ice following the incident and couldn't continue the game. The suspension will keep Makar out from Wednesday's Game 5 of the series. His absence will definitely hurt the team, but it's also been confirmed that McCann will be out of the contest, so these things even themselves out a bit. Devon Toews recently filled in for Makar on the first power-play unit when he was injured, while Bowen Byram is also set for a bigger role Wednesday.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
