2 years agoCleveland Guardians starting pitcher Cal Quantrill (shoulder) will be placed on the injured list on Friday with right-shoulder inflammation to make room for Aaron Civale (oblique) in the team's starting rotation. Quantrill received an injection and will be down for a few days before he resumes throwing. The 28-year-old right-hander may have been dealing with the injury in his last two starts against the White Sox and Orioles, as he allowed a combined 14 runs on 12 hits while walking five and striking out five in just 8 1/3 innings pitch to raise his season ERA to 5.61 (4.94 FIP) over his 11 starts (59 1/3 frames). Hopefully with some rest and recovery, Quantrill can return to Cleveland's rotation and be more effective.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
