C.J. Gardner-Johnson Carted Off The Field Monday
1 year agoDetroit Lions safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson (knee) suffered a non-contact knee injury in practice on Monday and was carted off the field. Non-contact injuries are usually pretty scary and can often end up being torn ACLs, but we'll pass along any updates we have on Gardner-Johnson's condition once we know more. The 25-year-old was expected to be a big part of Detroit's secondary at both cornerback and safety this year, so a significant injury would be a huge blow to this defense. Gardner-Johnson tied for the league lead in interceptions in 2022 with six for the Philadelphia Eagles last year and landed in Detroit as a free agent. He also finished in the top 35 in tackles by a defensive back last year, proving to be very relevant in IDP fantasy leagues.
