Bryan Woo To Start On Tuesday
1 year agoSeattle Mariners rookie right-hander Bryan Woo (forearm) will return from the injured list and start on Tuesday against the Chicago White Sox, with right-hander George Kirby going on Wednesday. Woo will return this week to take the starting rotation spot of fellow rookie Emerson Hancock, who landed on the IL on Monday with a right-shoulder injury. The 23-year-old Woo has a fantastic matchup in his return, but he didn't go on a minor-league rehab assignment and could have his pitch count limited in his first game back. In his first 11 major-league starts for the M's this year, Woo has pitched to a 4.75 ERA (4.07 FIP), 1.24 WHIP, 17 walks and 60 strikeouts in 55 innings. The White Sox have the third-lowest offensive OPS (.682) in the American League in 2023.
