Brenton Doyle Returns From Shoulder Injury
Brenton Doyle (shoulder) returned to the lineup for the series opener on Monday in Cleveland against the Guardians after missing four games with a sore right shoulder, according to MLB.com's Thomas Harding. Doyle suffered the injury making a diving catch last Tuesday against the St. Louis Cardinals and then aggravated the injury on a slide into home plate later in the game. The 27-year-old has hit just .216 with seven homers and 31 RBI in a disappointing season, and his shoulder injury came in the midst of one of his most productive stretches -- he went 8-for-17 (.471) during a five-game stretch. Fantasy managers have been left wondering what has happened after Doyle hit .260/.317/.446 with 23 homers, 30 steals and 72 RBI in a breakout 2024 campaign. A quad injury early in the year and time on the bereavement list stalled what had been a hot start.
