Braxton Garrett Earns Win Over Astros
3 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Braxton Garrett allowed one unearned run to notch his first win of the year over the Astros 5-1 on Saturday night. Making just his second start of the season, the lefty allowed six hits and a walk while striking out five over 5 2/3 IP, throwing 59 of his 83 pitches for strikes. It was a nice bounce-back outing for Braxton who allowed four runs over 3 1/3 in his season debut last week versus the Giants, but he's only a name to keep stashed away for now. The Marlins have proven themselves to develop pitchers, but until the 24-year-old strings together some consistent starts, he should be kept on watchlists as he looks ahead to his next matchup versus the Mets.
