Brandon Crawford Lands On Injured List
3 years agoThe San Francisco Giants placed shortstop Brandon Crawford (oblique) on the 10-day injured list on Monday with a mild oblique strain and recalled infielder Jason Vosler from Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding move. Crawford is expected to miss 10 to 14 days after suffering the injury in his final at-bat on Sunday. Manager Gabe Kapler said that Thairo Estrada will be the team's primary shortstop with Crawford sidelined. Crawdaddy deserves to be stashed everywhere after making the All-Star team with his .286/.363/.546 slash line, 18 home runs, 49 runs, 58 RBI and seven stolen bases. Oblique injuries can be tricky, though, especially for a 34-year-old middle infielder. Estrada is 10-for-31 (.323) with a homer and eight RBI in 2021. He'll have short-term NL-only appeal with the increased playing time.
