Brady Singer's Next Start To Be Skipped
1 year agoThe Kansas City Royals are planning on skipping right-hander Brady Singer's next start due to a velocity drop and some arm fatigue, so he won't pitch until next week now. Scans have all come back clear. "Late in the year fatigue, we thought it was smart to skip one. And then get back to it next time," Singer said. The 27-year-old has really labored in his last two starts against the Chicago Cubs and Seattle Mariners, surrendering 10 runs (eight earned) on 18 hits (three homers) while walking three and striking out nine in 7 2/3 innings. He's now sporting a career-worst 5.15 ERA (4.07 FIP), 1.39 WHIP, 44 walks and 125 strikeouts in 143 1/3 innings over 26 starts in his fourth MLB season. Singer is just 10 innings short of his career-high (set last year) for innings pitched and one start short of his career-high 27 starts in a single season.
