The Chicago Bears hired defensive line coach Travis Smith on Tuesday, according to a source. Smith spent the previous three seasons as an assistant defensive line coach with the Las Vegas Raiders. He played a key role in the development of defensive end Maxx Crosby, who has become one of the better edge rushers in the NFL in the last couple of seasons. The addition of Smith to head coach Matt Eberflus' coaching staff will be good news for Bears pass-rushers Trevis Gipson, Khalil Mack and Robert Quinn. Smith and Mack worked together with the Raiders, so they'll be reuniting. Chicago's defense actually ranked fourth in the NFL in 2021 with 49 total sacks.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
