Austin Riley Slugs First Extra-Base Hit
4 years agoAtlanta Braves third baseman Austin Riley broke out of a power slump with a solo home run during the club's 4-1 victory over the New York Yankees on Wednesday. The homer was the first extra-base hit of the season for the young player who is known for his power. Although he's been struggling to clear the outfield fences, Riley has shown a much-improved approach at the plate with a BB-K of 7-13 through 18 games. With a slightly above-average hard-hit rate and an average launch angle, the home runs should start to come for the young hitter once he begins to barrel the ball more consistently. He might be a solid buy-low candidate at this point with the numbers hinting at a more mature approach in 2021.
