Anthony Rendon Has Cooled Off At The Plate
4 years agoLos Angeles Angels third baseman Anthony Rendon will look to shake out of his September slump when the team hosts the Diamondbacks on Thursday. Rendon is slashing only .245/.373/.469 this month and is hitting .214 over his last 56 at-bats. He has not homered since September 6 and has only two extra-base hits over his last 29 at-bats. Rendon can still finish the season strong and will have a strong chance to get rolling at Angel Stadium. Through 25 home games this season, Rendon is posting a 1.063 OPS with 15 extra-base hits and 21 runs batted in. The veteran will also face Diamondbacks left-handed starter Alex Young Thursday and Rendon is slugging .540 against left-handers this season. This matchup could be the beginning of a hot streak offensively for Rendon.
