Anthony Rendon Goes Deep Against Brewers
4 years agoLos Angeles Angels third baseman Anthony Rendon went 1-for-2 Monday with a home run against the Brewers in Spring Training. The 30-year-old slugger rounded the bases for the first time of the 2021 exhibition season as the Angels are banking on Rendon to have a huge season. The team's prized free agent signing of last season was solid, yet unspectacular, in his first go-around with the Angels. Rendon slashed .286/.418/.497 in 52 games last year but fell short in a category that earned him a huge contract in the first place: doing damage with runners in scoring position. In 2019 with the Nationals, Rendon slugged .667 with runners in scoring position but that number nose-dived to .423 with the Angels. Los Angeles will be counting on Rendon to drive in runs and his current fantasy ranking could yield excellent value if the talented slugger can bounce back.
