Andrew Cashner Takes Loss On Middling Pitching Performance Friday
7 years agoBaltimore Orioles starting pitcher Andrew Cashner earned his seventh loss of the season Friday against the Yankees. The righty gave up three runs on nine hits and a walk with four strikeouts through six innings. He now owns a 2-7 record on the season. While his offense does not provide much support, Cashner hasn't helped himself, posting a 5.02 ERA with a less-than-average 7.87 K/9 rate and a 4.34 BB/9 rate in 66 1/3 innings pitched. He is also tied for the fourth-highest BABIP allowed in baseball (.342), making things even more difficult for him given his low strikeout rate. While Cashner is slated for a favorable matchup against the Blue Jays next Thursday, fantasy players may be wise to seek other options for their starting lineups.
