Andrelton Simmons Hitting Cleanup Wednesday
6 years agoLos Angeles Angels shortstop Andrelton Simmons will hit cleanup Wednesday against right-hander Kyle Gibson and the Twins. Simmons is the hottest hitter on the Angels right now, going 12-for-27 (.444) over the course of his current seven-game hitting streak. Simmons now has hits in 17 of his last 18 games, raising his average from .258 to .311 during that span. After a career-year last season, the 29-year-old is off to another great start and has served as the team's cleanup hitter most of 2019 so far. If he can maintain his current .280 average with runners in scoring position, Simmons could drive in 80-95 runs this season and is worth a roster spot in most fantasy formats right now.
