Alexander Mattison To See Heavy Workload
1 year agoEven before the Minnesota Vikings parted ways with long-time running back Dalvin Cook, the coaching staff was regretful for not giving Alexander Mattison more touches last year. The Vikings clearly believe in him and think he's a key piece in their attempt at improved rushing efficiency. Mattison might not be as explosive as Cook, but the team is committed to providing him an every-down workload, according to The Athletic's Alec Lewis. In addition to on the ground, the 25-year-old has caught passes out of the backfield in multiple concepts. Lewis says not to underestimate the Vikes' commitment to Mattison. In addition to Mattison being the clear lead back, nobody has impressed behind him as they look to steal touches away. Volume alone will put Mattison in the RB2 range in fantasy.
