Alex Bregman Runs The Bases At High Intensity
3 years agoHouston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman (quadriceps) ran the bases at high intensity on Tuesday and said afterward that he felt great. Bregman will repeat the process a few more times, which should be the last hurdle before he's cleared for a minor league rehab assignment. He estimated that he'll need somewhere between 15 to 30 at-bats once he's on a rehab assignment, and a lot will depend on how much running he gets in those at-bats. The 27-year-old star third baseman is nearing a return, and he needs to be owned in all fantasy leagues, as he has the potential to be a difference-maker for fantasy squads to close out the second half of the season. Bregman was hitting .275/.359/.428 with seven home runs, 37 runs and 34 RBI before his injury. Abraham Toro has been holding down the fort at third base in Bregman's absence, but he's hitting just .226 (21-for-93) with four home runs and 17 RBI.
