Alex Bowman Is A Risky Option Who Could Pay Off For Las Vegas Tournament Lineups
2 months agoAfter qualifying for the South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Alex Bowman will start Sunday's race from the third position. This is the highest start position ever for Bowman in a Cup Series race at Las Vegas. In 14 starts at the site, Bowman has one win and four top-10 finishes and scored positive Place Differential seven times. The No. 48 Chevrolet driver also has two top-3 finishes in his last four appearances at Vegas. With 32 races completed in 2024 so far, Bowman has one win, 15 top-10 finishes, and an average finish of 15.4. Bowman has been solid at 1.5-mile Intermediate tracks as he placed in the Top 10 in each of the last three races at the track type. In practice, Bowman displayed top-10 speeds in the 15, 20, 25, and 30 consecutive lap average categories while ranking 25th in overall lap averages. With a great car set for longer green flag runs but low upside, Bowman is a driver who can be a solid option for DFS tournament games, especially with his recent Vegas history being great.
