Alejandro Kirk's On-Base Streak at Three Games
4 years agoToronto Blue Jays rookie catcher Alejandro Kirk reached base for the third straight game with a single against the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday. He's now 2-for-5 this spring with an impressive BB-K of 1-0 in four games. Kirk is battling Reese McGuire for the second catching spot on the Blue Jays' opening day roster alongside Danny Jansen. Kirk spent the winter back in Mexico where he lost a significant amount of weight to help his flexibility and endurance. Just 22, he made his MLB debut last season and posted a 166 wRC+ in nine games. He's ranked by Rotoballer as the fifth-best catcher for dynasty baseball due to his strong offensive game and power potential.
