Daily Fantasy Leagues - FanDuel Lineup Picks (6/2)
P: Clayton Kershaw ($10,000): What makes for a great DFS starting pitcher? How about one of the best pitchers in baseball against the team that strikes out the most in baseball? That’s what we have tonight, as Kershaw takes on the White Sox.
Although Jose Abreu is expected back tonight, Kershaw should still be able to get a good amount of strikeouts while going deep into the game. Despite giving up 10 ER over his last three starts, Kershaw should be a great option tonight.
C: A.J. Pierzynski (3,100): Pierzynski is on a tear at the moment with four straight multi-hit games and hits in 10 straight. He is hitting .346 over his last two weeks and has seven RBI over that time. Although he only has four home runs on the year, he is a solid all-around source of points. The matchup is pretty juicy too, as he gets right-handed Justin Masterson and his 5.21 season ERA this year.
1B: Joe Mauer ($2,500): Another player who wows you with consistency rather than power is Mauer. He only has two bombs on the year and is hitting well under .300, but he does have hits in three of his last four games. Tonight he has a great matchup against former Twins farmhand Matt Garza, who has struggled to a 4.84 ERA. Garza has been back and forth between good outings and awful ones in his last nine games. Last time out, he was great, so if the pattern holds tonight it could be ugly for Garza.
2B: Justin Turner ($2,800): With so many stars on his team, Turner goes under the radar in most circles despite playing well of late. In his last six games, he has three multi-hit performances, six runs scored, two doubles and three RBI. He has also flashed a little power, with both of his two home runs on the year coming in the last two weeks.
SS: Jean Segura ($2,800): After a bit of a slow start, Segura has picked up his productivity of late. He has had multiple hits in six of his last 10 games. Although he has very little power, he is a real threat on the bases, with 10 swipes on the season. The Brewers are a solid stack option today, as their opponent Kyle Gibson is either dominant (1 ER or fewer in six starts) or horrendous (5+ ER in four starts). Of his four bad starts, three of those were on the road, and Gibson visits Segura and company at Miller Park in Milwaukee tonight.
3B: Brock Holt ($2,900): Holt is coming off of likely the best game of his career yesterday, in which he went 4-for-4 with four doubles, two RBI, a run, a walk and a stolen base. The Red Sox leadoff man is making it hard for the coaching staff to move him out of that spot, as he has nine hits in Boston's last four games. Like Pierzynski, he gets a great matchup with the right-handed Masterson, who has failed to go six innings in any of his last four outings.
OF: Ryan Braun ($4,600): As mentioned with Segura above, the Brewers are certainly in play for a stack tonight, and Braun has been streaking recently, going for 14 for his last 28 with a remarkable seven extra-base hits. Most of that has come at home, and he is at MIller Park again tonight. If Milwaukee can get to Gibson, it will likely be Braun getting the job done.
