BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 4% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: If you don’t know the name Joey Loperfido, get familiar with it because it’s only a matter of time until he finds himself in the majors. Loperfido is currently playing with the Astros’ Triple-A team, but there’s a strong chance he will be promoted to the active roster soon.
Loperfido is absolutely torching the ball at Triple-A Sugar Land, hitting .333 with 10 home runs, 24 RBI, and two doubles across 14 games. His best game also occurred just a couple of days ago, when he hit three HRs and brought in seven runs on April 12. The utility specialist is doing things that are unheard of to start the season.
On Joey Loperfido, GM Dana Brown said on @SportsTalk790 "At some point, I think we're going to get him up here for sure, but it's good to see he's off to a good start. I'd like to see him cut down the strikeouts a little bit... He'll be a nice utility piece for us."

With the Astros also off to a slow start (6-11) and current first baseman Jose Abreu continuing to struggle at the plate (.111 batting average), Loperfido's promotion could come shortly. The 24-year-old has split time at both outfield and first base in 2024. That’s why now is the right time to stash him. Once he gets promoted, he will be a big bat in Houston's lineup.
