Is Treylon Burks Playing In Week 14 Against the Jaguars?
Tennessee Titans rookie wide receiver Treylon Burks has flashed the talent that led the Titans to select him in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Unfortunately, Burks has had trouble staying on the field for Tennessee during his maiden professional campaign.
The University of Arkansas product has missed four games this year with a lingering turf toe injury. Since returning to action in Week 10, he's played well. However, Burks was injured in last week's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles when he absorbed a brutal hit while catching a TD pass. The rookie was evaluated for a concussion and has remained in NFL protocol all week. He has officially been ruled out for Week 14.
Should I Pick Up and Start Nick Westbrook-Ikhine In Week 14?
With Burks ruled out, the other pass-catchers in this Tennessee receiving corps should see an increase in volume against the Jaguars this week.
Titans wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine - along with veteran Robert Woods - should be a notable beneficiary due to Burks' absence from the lineup. Westbrook-Ikhine has totaled 347 receiving yards and a pair of TDs in 2022.
Tennessee's receiving corps has roundly underwhelmed as a group this season. That disappointment extends to Westbrook-Ikhine, who has shown flashes - like in a 5/119/2 performance against Denver in Week 13 - but has failed to make a consistent impact.
Though his upcoming matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars is a good one, Westbrook-Ikhine's fantasy projection is shaky at best due to the conservative, run-heavy nature of Tennessee's offense. He should only be considered by the most desperate of fantasy managers in deeper leagues.
