Andy's fantasy baseball prospects sleepers and risers to know for Week 10 of 2025. He analyzes top MLB prospects and rookies to stash based on recent performances.
Welcome RotoBallers to my fantasy baseball prospect risers and top performers series for Week 10 of the 2025 season. In this edition, we will take a look at a Colorado shortstop who has enjoyed an incredible power surge. In addition, we will take a look at a budding ace in Philadelphia who has picked up right where he left off after his brief taste of the major leagues.
However, it is crucial to determine whether these performances truly matter in redraft leagues for 2025. Knowing which prospects to watch can put you ahead of your league mates and in the driver's seat. In our last edition, we looked at Samuel Basallo, who is inching closer to his MLB debut.
Adding the right prospect can fill the missing piece on your roster and set you up for a fantasy championship. This week, we will look at two familiar names if you followed this column last season, and another budding ace in the Tampa Bay pitching factory. This fantasy baseball prospects biweekly series will examine a few key players in the minor leagues and assess whether they have a path to fantasy stardom in 2025.

Ryan Ritter, SS, Colorado Rockies
Rockies No. 13 Prospect, Overall N/A
The 24-year-old shortstop has begun to turn heads this past week and is making a strong case to earn an early MLB promotion. Over his last 10 games, Ritter has posted an incredible .460/.491/1.100 slash line with seven doubles, three triples, seven home runs, and 17 RBI. During this stretch, Ritter has held a 7:3 K:BB.
On Sunday and Tuesday, Ritter launched a combined five long balls with seven RBI.
Prior to this recent surge, the Kentucky product held a modest 229/.377/.427 line through his first 36 contests of the Triple-A regular season. In this stretch, Ritter hit just seven total round-trippers and added only five doubles.
Last season, the former fourth-round selection spent his entire campaign at the Double-A level and held a .370/.370/.403 line with just seven long balls across a hefty 91 games. Seeing Ritter take such a significant step forward in his development, facing tougher competition, is a great sign.
Last summer at Double-A, Ritter drew walks at a 9.4% rate and struck out at a 23.6% rate. However, through his first two months at Triple-A, Ritter has raised his walk rate to 13.8% and lowered his K rate to 21.1%. In addition, the infielder has raised his ISO from .132 to an incredible .320 and has been able to raise his fly-ball rate by two points.
While Ezequiel Tovar will block him from earning the starting shortstop job in Colorado, the keystone is potentially open.
Thairo Estrada was recently activated off the injured list and will likely be eased into action. In addition, young infielder Adael Amador has seen most of the time at second base but has posted a low .146/.240/.225 line and was recently optioned to Triple-A.
If he continues to hit for power, the Rockies will give their No. 13-ranked prospect a look in the majors.

Verdict: Stash in NL-only formats
Kyle Teel, C, Chicago White Sox
White Sox No. 2 Prospect, Overall 28
Kyle Teel was one of the prospects who were shipped to Chicago in a deal that sent Garrett Crochet to Boston in the winter. Teel was viewed as one of the top prospects in Boston prior to the trade and quickly landed as the No. 2-best prospect on the Southside.
In 2024, the backstop spent most of his season at Double-A before earning a brief taste of Triple-A. At Double-A, Teel posted a strong .298/.390/.462 line with 20 doubles and 11 long balls. Then in his first 28 games at the top level of the minor leagues, the former first-round pick took a step back, posting a modest .255/.374/.343 line with just two long balls.
However, Teel has been able to take the next step at Triple-A this season during his second look and is making a strong case to get the call to the majors quite soon. Through 44 total games with Triple-A Charlotte, the backstop has posted an impressive .296/.397/.494 line with nine doubles, seven long balls, and four stolen bases.
Over the last week, Teel has begun to heat up in the batter's box. In his last eight contests, the Virginia product has posted a stellar .448/.556/.897 line with four doubles and three long balls.
Under the hood, Teel has generated promising metrics to suggest his breakout at Triple-A is legit. In comparison to last season, Teel has been able to lower his ground-ball rate by more than 10 points (55.6% - 44.7%) and raise his fly-ball rate substantially (20.8% - 30.7%). He has also generated a .198 ISO, a much higher mark than the .088 he held last summer at Worcester.
Teel is on the verge of getting the call and could provide high power upside that is worth getting ahead of the curve, especially in two-catcher leagues.
Kyle Teel just keeps hitting.
The White Sox prospect has reached base in 33 straight games and has a 19-game hitting streak.

Verdict: Stash in two-catcher leagues
Mick Abel, SP, Philadelphia Phillies
Phillies No. 8 Prospect, Overall N/A
Mick Abel turned heads in his MLB debut when he was taken to replace the injured Aaron Nola (ankle). In this spot start, the former 15th overall pick shut down the Pittsburgh Pirates, tossing six shutout frames with nine punchouts. The right-hander did not allow a walk and served up just five hits.
However, the Phillies opted to have the veteran Taijuan Walker replace Nola in the rotation and opted Abel back to Triple-A after his impressive debut. However, Abel should be viewed as a high-priority pitcher to monitor, as a return to the majors could be right around the corner.
In his first start back at Lehigh Valley, the right-hander tossed six one-run innings against Buffalo. He allowed three hits and four walks and struck out eight. Through 52 1/3 total innings at Triple-A this season, Abel has looked quite strong, holding a 2.41 ERA with a 1.20 WHIP. He has struck out 59 batters and allowed 23 free passes.
This production is critical to note as Abel struggled during his first taste of Triple-A last summer. In 2024, Abel spent his entire campaign with Lehigh Valley but saw his prospect stock tumble as he posted a hefty 6.46 ERA with a 1.81 WHIP. In this stint, Abel posted a career-worst 15.1% walk rate and career-low 22.7% K rate.
However, the right-hander has been able to flip the script and emerge as one of the game's top pitchers at Triple-A this season. Through 52 1/3 frames, Abel has generated groundballs at a strong 48.9% rate (five points higher than his 2024 mark) and flyballs at a 29.3% rate (two points lower than 2024). In addition, Abel has carried a 3.92 xFIP, which is the best mark of his minor league career.
Despite his strong progression, can fantasy managers expect Abel to earn a spot in the rotation? Walker has begun to struggle, allowing five runs over his last eight frames, which could open the door for him to take his spot. In addition, Nola is still in the early stages of his recovery process and will likely not return until mid-June at the earliest.
While top prospect Andrew Painter will soon be knocking on the door, Abel is ahead of him for the short-term outlook. If Walker has another disappointing showing, Abel could get the call next week.
