FanDuel Picks for Daily Fantasy Football Week 16: DFS Lineup Advice and Sleepers

There is a bit of a short slate this week because I am only writing for the Sunday/Monday games, which leaves out four teams (SD, OAK, WSH, PHI). It's quickly becoming crunch time in the NFL, and you're going to have to do research on who is starting and sitting with teams clinching the playoffs. Doing this research will help your fantasy outlook as much as other research will.

In this edition I will be headlining a few of my top plays on FanDuel for Week 16 of the daily fantasy football season.

These DFS lineup picks can range from the elite tier of players to a few guys that I feel are a bit overpriced on FanDuel. Let's get to it!

FanDuel DFS Quarterbacks for Week 16

Cam Newton (at ATL, $9,300)

Newton has been unbelievable this season, and he has now thrown five touchdowns in three of his last five games. He gets a divisional matchup against a tough Falcons defense this week, but the Panthers are significant favorites. Newton has 75% of all  Panthers touchdowns this season (40). He’s coming off a tremendous game against the Giants in which he threw for 340 yards and 5 touchdowns while also running for 100 yards. He’s a great option in all leagues, and he makes a great play this week.

Drew Brees (vs JAC, $8,200)

Brees has been playing well recently, as he’s averaging 23.57 fantasy points per game over the last three weeks. He gets a great matchup against the Jaguars this week, and they have been one of the worst defenses against quarterbacks this season. The Vegas line really stands out in this game, as the Saints are projected to score nearly 30 points, which is one of the highest team totals of the week. Brees has been throwing the ball 40+ times per game, and he’s a fairly safe option with great upside this week. One concern is health; Brees went for an MRI on Monday and we are awaiting the results. Keep an eye on his status in case the Saints decide to rest him,

FanDuel DFS Running Backs for Week 16

David Johnson (vs GB, $7,300)

Johnson is coming off a career game against the Eagles in which he ran totaled 229 yards and 3 touchdowns. He has tremendous upside, as he is a big back with great speed and good hands. He records fantasy points in multiple different ways, which gives him a safe floor with great upside. He gets somewhat of a tough matchup against Green Bay, a team that has been playing fairly well against the run recently. Johnson isn’t quite priced with the other elite backs, but he has arguably the best floor/ceiling combination on the slate.

Karlos Williams (vs DAL, $5,400)

Williams has really impressed in limited action this season and with LeSean McCoy (MCL) likely out this week, Williams should be the feature back. Williams is averaging 6.0 yards per run this season and has scored seven touchdowns. He has only had over 10 total touches in two games this season, and he played extremely well in each of those games. This week, he gets a great matchup against the Cowboys, who have really struggled against the run this season. Williams can be used in all leagues.

FanDuel DFS Wide Receivers for Week 16

Antonio Brown (at BAL, $9,300)

After last week there is absolutely no reason to avoid Antonio Brown. He had 16 catches for 189 yards and 2 touchdowns against the leagues best pass defense. The week, he gets a much easier matchup (@ BAL) against one of the worst secondaries in the NFL, and he should be able to dominate once again. In 14 games this season, Brown has a ridiculous 116 receptions for 1,586 yards and nine touchdowns. He isn’t going to come cheap, but there is plenty of value on FanDuel that will allow you to get this stud into your lineups.

Doug Baldwin (vs STL, $7,700)

Unfortunately, I’m not offering one of the cheaper wide receivers, but there are a plethora of them to choose from this week. Baldwin is a great option once again this week, as he has now caught 10 touchdowns in his last four games. He’s the preferred red zone target for the Seahawks, and he has been seeing a ton of targets recently. The Rams have a great defense, but the Seahawks will likely continue to force feed Baldwin the ball. His price doesn’t come cheap, but he has tremendous upside and he can be used in all leagues tonight.

FanDuel DFS Tight Ends for Week 16

Julius Thomas (at NO, $6,500)

Thomas really struggled early on this season, but he has found his part in the Jags offense and has been playing extremely well recently. Over the last five games, he’s averaging 13.3 fantasy points per game. He gets a great matchup against the Saints this week, who have been the worst defense in the NFL against tight ends. Thomas isn’t going to come cheap but he has great upside. He can be used in all leagues.

Kyle Rudolph (vs NYG, $5,000)

Rudolph is a risky play. He’s featured in the offense one week, gone the next week. He has flashed good upside for a tight end with an extremely low price tag. He gets a great matchup against the Giants this week, who have really struggled against tight ends this season (22nd overall). Rudolph isn’t safe enough for cash games, but he can be used in tournaments tonight.
