FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (9/12/16): MLB DFS Advice

Max Petrie highlights the top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for 9/12/16. These are the top value and sleeper plays for your FanDuel MLB DFS lineups.

Welcome to our Monday edition of FanDuel picks on Rotoballer. Perhaps you're looking to capitalize on your NFL winnings or need your baseball fix because you're team missed the playoffs. Have no fear, because we have all 30 teams are in play with first pitch at 4:05 ET, so there are plenty of contests to enter and various options to ponder.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 9/12/16. As for Vegas insights, the heavy moneyline favorites tonight are the Giants (-235) and Red Sox (-220). The highest scoring totals are Rockies-Diamondbacks and Orioles-Red Sox (9.5).

Editor's Note: Purchase a full season NFL Premium Pass (including DFS Premium), and also get MLB Premium + DFS for free through the playoffs. DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for FanDuel

Red Sox versus Wade Miley

Miley continues to be a disappointment in the Orioles rotation, posting a 1-3 record with a 7.15 ERA in that span. The Red Sox have a .804 OPS versus LHP (3rd) and are coming off an offensive outburst in Toronto. Look for Boston to keep it going at home.

Braves versus Andrew Cashner

Sometimes you have to play the contrarian card to win it all. Nothing is more contrarian than taking the team ranking last in OPS versus RHP. Cashner hasn't been a fan of joining Miami (4.91 ERA + no neck beard) while multiple Braves are heating up, including Freddie Freeman, Ender Inciarte, Adonis Garcia, and Dansby Swanson.

Also Consider: Rockies versus Shelby Miller

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel

Jose De Leon (SP, LAD) - $7,700

Safe to say De Leon earned his latest start after his debut (6 IP, 9 K). The only question now is how is he below $8,000. This will allow owners to invest in hitting and they'd be foolish to pass it up. The Yankees .729 OPS versus RHP ranks 18th in baseball and while he's no guarantee to go deep into the game, his strikeout ceiling makes him a worthy investment.

Tyler Anderson (SP, COL) - $6,500

Anderson continues to impress in the Rockies rotation, posting a 3.35 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 84/24 K/BB in 96.2 innings. The Diamondbacks are a difficult matchup (.814 OPS versus LHP is tops in baseball, but Anderson held them in check their last dance (5.1 IP, 2 ER, 8 K). It's a bare minimum price tag that allows to stack hitters on a heavy slate.

DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel

Catcher (C) - Sandy Leon (C, BOS) - $2,800

Leon continues to be an unexpected source of production in the Red Sox lineup and is hitting .351 this season. More importanty, he is hitting .400 in 46 AB versus LHP this season with lefty Miley on the mound.

First Base (1B) - Kendrys Morales (1B, KC) - $3,000

Morales has been on fire, hitting .400 with four home runs in the month of September and quietly is up to 26 HR on the year. He is hitting .300 versus LHP this season and is 2-for-2 lifetime versus Ross Detwiler.

Second Base (2B) - Brian Dozier (2B, MIN) - $3,700

As you likely know by know, Dozier has been one of the best hitters in the second half (.319, 25 HR). He also has a .297/.368/.661 slash versus LHP and gets Daniel Norris tonight. Look for Dozier to reach the 40-HR mark tonight. He should be the highest priced second basemen but finds himself fourth, making this an excellent play.

Shortstop (SS) - Xander Bogaerts (SS, BOS) - $3,600

Yes, Bogaerts has cooled significantly lately (.188 in September), but he is still a .330 hitter at Fenway Park and has a .854 OPS versus LHP. The Red Sox have been playing great baseball and I expect X to get involved tonight at a low ownership.

Third Base (3B) - Jung Ho Kang (3B, PIT) - $3,500

If it ain't broke don't fix it. Kang has come back with a vengeance after his DL stint and is averaging over 23 FanDuel points in his past six games, including a .522 average with four home runs.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel

Kevin Kiermaier (OF, TB) - $3,900

Yes, this is way higher than we'd prefer to pay for KK. But he has been showing the power/speed combo people always envisioned (.444, 3 HR/3 SB in past 27 AB). Don't be scared by the L/L situation either. He has a higher OPS versus LHP (.821) than RHP (.724).

Curtis Granderson (OF, NYM) - $3,600

The Mets have surged into the NL Wild Card race and The Grandy Man has been a big part of it. He has four home runs with a .300 average in his past 20 AB.

Jacoby Ellsbury (OF, NYY) - $3,200

People will be scared off by the Jose De Leon matchup but Ellsbury has turned it on of late, averaging over 14 FanDuel points in his last seven games.

Also Consider: Trea Turner (OF, WAS) - $4,300 and Nick Markakis (OF, ATL) - $2,600
