Andy's FAAB fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups and bidding guide for Week 7 (May 12 - May 18). His recommended FAAB dollars to spend on waiver wire adds.
With a month in the books, we now have plenty of data to determine which players we should target on the waiver wire. Our series about FAAB fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups continues as we head into Week 7 of the 2025 MLB season -- May 12 through May 18. This waiver wire article will recommend free agents to target and how much FAAB you should allocate for them.
The story of this week's piece is the high-flying Detroit Tigers. Several Tigers who have begun heating up at the plate are still under-rostered in standard leagues. On the pitching side, the Cubs are calling up their top prospect, who could carve out a permanent role for the remainder of the season.
Each week, I will break down at least one player from each position with ownership percentages under 40 percent in Yahoo! leagues who could improve your roster and provide you with an added boost in several categories. Let's get to it!

Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Hitters to Target
Dillon Dingler, C, Detroit Tigers
10% rostered
FAAB Bid: <20% if needing a No. 2 catcher, <7% for others
The 26-year-old has enjoyed a productive opening month of the campaign. Over his first 27 contests, Dingler has posted .290/.311/.470 slash line with four doubles and four long balls. Over his last six, he has held a .323/.364/.452 line.
Under the hood, he has generated a .278 xBA with a .479 xSLG, which suggests his sophomore breakout campaign is legit. If you need a No. 2 backstop, bid accordingly this weekend.

Other C to consider: Ryan Jeffers MIN, Patrick Bailey SFG, Bo Naylor CLE
Colt Keith, 1B/2B, Detroit Tigers
12% rostered
FAAB Bid: <12%
After a slow start to the season, Colt Keith has begun to flip the script. Over his last eight contests, Keith has posted a .348/.444/.870 slash line with four long balls. Prior to this power surge, he held a .171 AVG with no home runs over his first 27 games of the season.
His .381 xwOBA suggests his positive regression is finally beginning to settle in. Given his recent success, the Tigers have begun to move him up to the three-hole against right-handed pitching. Given his ability to be a middle and corner infielder, he is worth adding in all formats.
Rowdy Tellez, 1B, Seattle Mariners
3% rostered
FAAB Bid: <5% in daily lineup leagues, <2% in other leagues
The 30-year-old is in a strict platoon role but has begun to find his power swing. Over his last six contests entering Friday, Tellez has held an impressive .350/.350/.550 slash line with two doubles and a home run.
While he holds a high 28.6% strikeout rate, he does hold value in category formats when looking to boost your power production. His impressive 16.7% barrel rate and 48.1% hard-hit rate suggest his power totals should continue to rise during the summer.
Other 1B to consider: Ryan O'Hearn BAL, Zach Dezenzo HOU
Daniel Schneemann, 2B/3B/SS/OF, Cleveland Guardians
13% rostered
FAAB Bid: <13%
Daniel Schneemann may just be the hottest hitter in the sport. Over his last seven contests, the 28-year-old has held a stellar .421/.522/1.000 line with two doubles, three home runs, and seven RBI. During his first 21 games of the season, Schneemann held a modest .235/.304/.412 line with three doubles and two home runs.
While Schneemann could just be swinging a hot bat, his .390 xwOBA, .573 xSLG, and a 20.0% barrel rate suggest this production could be stable throughout the summer. He continues to be the everyday second baseman in Cleveland.
Hyeseong Kim, 2B/SS, Los Angeles Dodgers
9% rostered
FAAB Bid: <20%
The 26-year-old could not crack the Opening Day roster but needed only a month's work at Triple-A to prove he was ready for the big leagues. During his 28 games at Triple-A, Kim posted a .252/.328/.470 with eight doubles, five home runs, and 13 stolen bases.
Kim has wasted little time getting settled through his first five games in Los Angeles, as he has tallied five hits and swiped two bags. He is being deployed as the everyday second baseman in a potent lineup. Given his speed upside, fantasy managers in category formats should feel comfortable raising their bid.
Other 2Bs to consider: Gabriel Arias CLE, David Hamilton BOS
Miguel Andujar, 3B/OF, Athletics
6% rostered
FAAB Bid: <11%
Tyler Soderstrom and Jacob Wilson have been stealing most of the headlines in Sacramento, but Miguel Andujar has been nearly as productive through the season's opening month. Over his first 27 contests of the campaign, the 30-year-old has posted an impressive .320/.352/.423 slash line with two long balls and one stolen base.
Andujar has shown an elite eye at the plate, posting a stellar 10.5% strikeout rate (96th percentile). He has also generated a strong .284 xBA, which is well above the average marks. Andujar is a solid target in points leagues given his strong eye at the plate.
In category formats, he should continue to boost your batting average while providing solid counting stats, batting in the top half of the lineup.
Other 3B to consider: Gabriel Arias CLE, Yoan Moncada LAA
Trey Sweeney, SS, Detroit Tigers
6% rostered
FAAB Bid: <2%
Trey Sweeney is the final Tiger bat on this list. The 25-year-old infielder enters Friday riding an eight-game hitting streak. During this stretch, Sweeney has posted an impressive .469/.485/.688 slash line with one double and two home runs.
Unlike Dingler and Keith, Sweeny has generated a modest .320 xwOBA with a .252 xBA, which suggests this could be the result of a hot week rather than an actual breakout. Nevertheless, in a deeper format, given his recent surge, he is a fine middle infield replacement.
Other SS to consider: David Hamilton, BOS
Jake Meyers, OF, Houston Astros
9% rostered
FAAB Bid: <15% if needing an outfielder, <7% for others
After posting a modest .219 AVG across a career-high 148 games during the 2024 season, Jake Meyers has enjoyed an impressive start to the 2025 campaign. Through his first 35 games this season, Meyers has posted a strong .297/.315/.426 slash line with five doubles, two home runs, and seven stolen bases.
Under the hood, Meyers has generated a .277 xBA (75th percentile), 44.4% hard-hit rate (61st percentile), and sits in the 80th percentile in sprint speed. With an everyday role in the Houston starting nine, Meyers should continue to provide stable five-category production.
Have a day, Jake Meyers!

Dane Myers, OF, Miami Marlins
6% rostered
FAAB Bid: <16% if needing an outfielder, <8% for others
My other outfielder to highlight is Dane Myers of the Miami Marlins. Myers has been swinging a hot bat through the first month, as he has slashed a .342/.383/.500 slash line with three home runs and six stolen bases. After holding a .263/.333/.442 line last season (across 44 games), is his early-season production legit?
Currently, the Rice product sits in the 87th percentile in xwOBA, 85th percentile in xSLG, and 99th percentile in xBA among qualified hitters. Given his metrics, Myers will continue to remain a staple of the Miami starting nine. While counting stats may be hard to trust, he could be poised to enjoy a breakout season.
Other OFs to consider: Daniel Schneemann CLE, Max Kepler PHI
Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pitchers to Target
Ben Brown, SP, Chicago Cubs
10% rostered
FAAB Bid: <13%
The 25-year-old has had an inconsistent start to the 2025 season but appears to be turning the corner. Over his last two starts (11 innings), Brown has held a strong 2.45 ERA with a 1.09 WHIP. During this stretch, Brown has struck out 13 batters and allowed just two walks. During his first 25 1/3 innings, Brown posted a much higher 6.04 ERA.
While his 4.24 xERA suggests his ratios may be challenging to trust, if you are falling behind in strikeout totals, target Brown.
Gunnar Hoglund, SP, Athletics
27% rostered
FAAB Bid: <10%
The 25-year-old has continued to impress during his first stint in the majors. Across his first 11 1/3 innings, the No. 15-ranked prospect in the A's system has held a 2.38 ERA with a 1.06 WHIP. While he has only struck out 10 batters, he has shown elite control, walking just 2.3% of the batters he has faced.
His primary pitch, his four seamer (which he uses 43.3% of the time), has generated a stellar .238 xwOBA with a 27.3% whiff rate. Given his strong start, he should remain in the rotation going forward.
Clayton Kershaw, SP, Los Angeles Dodgers
18% rostered
FAAB Bid: <16%
The future Hall of Famer is on the verge of returning from the 60-day injured list. Kershaw has been sidelined due to a toe and foot injury, but has looked fantastic during his rehab stint. Through 17 innings of rehab work within the Dodger system, the left-hander has held a 2.12 ERA with a 0.76 WHIP. During this stint, he has struck out 14 batters.
While injuries have limited Kershaw, especially during the later years of his career, when on the mound, he has been very effective. He could return as early as next week. Place your big accordingly.
Clayton Kershaw was unhittable in his latest rehab outing. Literally.

Other SPs to consider: Matthew Liberatore STL
Zach Agnos, RP, Colorado Rockies
3% rostered
FAAB Bid: <15% if needing saves
While saves are hard to come by in Colorado, when the Rockies do have a save opportunity, Zach Agnos will get the ball. Over his first nine 1/3 innings in the major leagues, Agnos has not allowed an earned run and has a stellar 0.75 WHIP.
During this stint, he has struck out just three batters but tallied one hold and two saves. If you need saves and all the "proven" options are rostered, Agnos is the best bet to make.
Other RP to consider for saves: Camilo Doval SFG, Chris Martin TEX
Fantasy Baseball Prospects to Monitor
Cade Horton, SP, Chicago Cubs
5% rostered
FAAB Bid: <15%
This section is typically revered for a stash option, but Cade Horton will be the exception this week. The top pitching prospect in Chicago is set to join the major league roster in Queens during their weekend series against the New York Mets.
Horton was on track to make his MLB debut last summer but was eventually shut down due to a season-ending shoulder injury. However, through the early part of the 2025 season, Horton has looked sharp in Triple-A, holding a 1.24 ERA with a 0.86 WHIP across 29 innings.
With Justin Steele (elbow) out for the season and Shota Imanaga (hamstring) on the 15-day IL, Horton could have a path to stay on the MLB roster for the foreseeable future.
Other prospects to monitor: Roman Anthony BOS, Jordan Lawlar ARI, Bubba Chandler PIT
