Philadelphia Eagles - NFL Betting Analysis

Philadelphia heads into the season looking to make another appearance in the playoffs. Last year's team ended the year with a 31-15 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card. Philadelphia is coming off a season in which they finished 2nd in the NFC East on a record of 9-8.

This season, Philadelphia will look to once again be strong on offense, as the team averaged 26.1 points per game in 2021-2022, placing them 26.1 in the league. Last year, the Eagles averaged 27.56 points and 374 yards per game against the 10 worst scoring defenses in the NFL. They will be looking for a big performance as Detroit ended the 2021-2022 season ranked 31st in points allowed per game.

On offense, the 2021-2022 Philadelphia Eagles finished the year with a yards per play figure of 5.7, good for 13th in the NFL. In total, Philadelphia surpassed their season average in yards per play in just 47.0% of their games.

Leading into this week's matchup, Philadelphia will once again roll with Jalen Hurts in his 3rd season in the league. For the season, Hurts played in a total of 15 games for Philadelphia. Overall, he finished 21st in passing yards with a total of 3,144.

Detroit Lions - NFL Betting Analysis

This year, the Lions will look to have a better defensive unit, as last year's group allowed an average of 27.5 points per game. This week, Detroit will face off against last year's 12th rated scoring offense. In the 2021-2022 season, they allowed an average of 28.25 points per game to teams that finished in the middle third of the league in scoring.
