MLB DFS Picks Today: Daily Fantasy Baseball Strategy and Tips For FanDuel, DraftKings (9/2/25)

Logan Webb - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Starting Pitchers, Draft Sleepers

Thunder Dan's top DraftKings and FanDuel MLB DFS picks for today, Tuesday, 9/2/25. His favorite daily fantasy baseball lineup sleepers and value picks for DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel.

It's a fairly small slate for a Tuesday night, with just nine games (compared to the usual 12 or more) on the main slate. We also have a later start tonight, with lineups locking at 7:35 EST.

This is a tricky slate, and I anticipate the top pitchers will be heavily rostered, while rostership on hitters could easily be spread out among a half-dozen teams or more.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 9/2/2025, with the slate starting at 7:35 PM EST. The lineup picks will showcase elite players, mid-priced options, and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Logan Webb, SFG at COL ($9,000 DK/$10,400 FD)

Webb is my top option tonight, even while pitching at Coors Field. Webb has the type of stuff to dominate the Rockies, especially on the road, as he features a hard sinker that induces groundballs at a high rate.

Webb has been a consistent force for the Giants, logging quality starts in four of his last five starts. He's been striking out more hitters this year, too, with a 26% K% - helping to justify his price tag tonight.

Webb handled Colorado once already this season, scattering six hits over seven innings with six strikeouts. With the Rockies ranked just 27th in wRC+ against RHP over the last month, this is a matchup that Webb can win big.

Luis Severino, ATH at STL ($6,200 DK/$8,200 FD)

For my SP2 on DK and my top tournament play on FD, I am rolling with Athletics righty Severino. He's coming off a three-week stint on the IL, but was pitching quite well before being shut down. He's won his last four starts in a row, and he's scored at least 35 FanDuel points in four of his last five outings.

Severino is on the road, which is a big deal since his home park this season (Sutter Health Park in Sacramento) has been a hitter's paradise. He'll face a Cardinals team that is 29th in wRC+ against righties over the last month, and they're also sporting the second-worst strikeout rate at 27%.

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Tyler Soderstrom, 1B/OF - ATH ($4,700 DK/$3,000 FD)

Soderstrom trails only Nick Kurtz on the team in SLG% vs. RHP this year with a solid .501 mark. He'll tee it up against the veteran righty Miles Mikolas, who has some of the worst splits on the board against lefties.

Don't get me wrong, Mikolas has been bad against righties, too, but against LHH, he has allowed a .227 ISO, .505 SLG, and 15.2% Barrel%.

You can slot Soderstrom in at first base or take advantage of his OF eligibility, something you may need to do if we get word that Nick Kurtz returns to the lineup for the Athletics tonight.

Lenyn Sosa, 1B/2B, 3B on FD - CWS ($3,500 DK/$2,700 FD)

Sosa has had quite a solid second half for the ChiSox in 2025. He's now hitting second for Chicago and has done a great job of both setting the table for the middle of the lineup and supplying some power of his own.

Sosa has 13 home runs against RHP this season and is facing Simeon Woods Richardson, who has allowed a 14.6% barrel% and 46.7% HardHit%. I expect this game to be a high-scoring affair with two mediocre pitchers on the mound and winds blowing out to left-center field.

Luke Keaschall, 2B - MIN ($4,700 DK/$3,100 FD)

Minnesota is one of my top stacks tonight, and I have to include their red-hot rookie in my lineups as Keaschall continues to rake against RHP this season.

It's been just 75 at-bats, but Keaschall is hitting .400 with a .627 SLG against righties so far this year. He strikes out just 9% of the time and seems to always be on base.

Davis Martin is one of the worst pitchers on the slate tonight. He gives up more power to lefties, but hitters from both sides of the plate have found success against him this year.

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Seiya Suzuki, OF - CHC ($4,200 DK/$3,400 FD)

I have been waiting to jump on the Suzuki train against a lefty for a very long time, and I think tonight is finally the night to do it. The Cubs outfielder had been slumping for much of the second half of the season after he put together a fantastic first half.

But it appears he could be ready to break out of his funk. He's collected six hits, including two doubles, over his last four games. Despite his struggles, he still enters today with some elite splits against LHP with a .515 SLG and 25.5% Barrel%.

Joey Wentz has had a nice run as a starter this year, but he's beginning to show why he's been a journeyman sixth starter type lately. He was smacked around for six runs by the Mets last week and gave up five earned runs to the Brewers earlier this month. He's nothing more than an average arm at best, and I won't be surprised if the Cubs jump on him tonight.

Luis Matos, OF - SF ($3,500 DK/$2,800 FD)

If there's one Giants bat I might prioritize tonight, it's Matos. He's been red-hot of late with six multi-hit games in his last ten. He's far too cheap to be facing a lefty in Coors.

Matt Wallner, OF - MIN ($3,600 DK/$3,000 FD)

Wallner is the ultimate cheap play for a home run. Despite only hitting .205 against righties this season, he's slugged 17 home runs against them with a massive 20.7% barrel%.

Wallner has four home runs in the last five games in which he faced a right-handed starter. He's an easy play tonight against Davis Martin, who surrendered a .483 SLG and 49.4% HardHit% to lefties this season.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

The Giants are an obvious stack in Coors, and they are coming in hot, but they also can struggle against LHP, so if you want some pivots...

1. Minnesota Twins vs. Chicago White Sox (Davis Martin)

I want to go after Davis Martin here with a Minnesota team that has a five-run implied total. Martin has worse splits against lefties, but Buxton and Keaschall have been crushing righties, too. This is a pretty affordable stack and will allow you to spend up for Webb or Woo.

Favorite Combo: Buxton, Larnach, Keaschall, Wallner, Lewis/Lee

2. Athletics vs. St. Louis Cardinals (Miles Mikolas)

Any chance I get to pick on Miles Mikolas, I have to take a shot. The Athletics have a solid group of hitters from 1-5 in the lineup, though Nick Kurtz could be out again. They've been warming up lately, and the lefties look particularly good today, though I will never fade the power of Langeliers and Rooker either.

Favorite Combo: Butler, Langeliers, Rooker, Soderstrom (Kurtz might be out)
