DraftKings Showdown CFB DFS Lineup Picks - Quick Lane Bowl (12/26/22)

Mike's top CFB DFS lineup picks for DraftKings for the 2022 Quick Lane Bowl. Who can help us take down this showdown slate between Bowling Green and New Mexico State?

The day after Christmas is the unofficial travel day for the United States, so we have our last showdown until the National Championship game in a couple of weeks. The next week of slates features at least three games per day! This last lone bowl game is the Quick Lane Bowl in Detroit.

This is a weird start time in the Motor City with Bowling Green taking on New Mexico State. The Aggies got a waiver to play in their first bowl game since 1960 since they didn't get to play in their 12th game of the season. It makes for an interesting matchup!

I will be providing you with daily college fantasy football picks DraftKings for the Quick Lane Bowl starting at 2:30 pm Eastern. We will take a look at the best captain plays and the utility plays to go with them.

DFS Captain Plays

Diego Pavia, QB, New Mexico State ($15,600)

Pavia closed the season with 94.88 DraftKings points in the last two games, one of which was a blowout of a heavily favored Liberty team. The Aggies don't throw much, but seven of Pavia's 25 completions in those two games went for touchdowns. He also ran for four touchdowns in those two games. You have to have at least one New Mexico State player. It should be Pavia, even if you don't run him at captain.

Odieu Hiliare, WR, Bowling Green ($15,000)

Hiliare went nuts on Toledo in Week 12 but had a pedestrian game in the snow against Ohio in the last game of the season. It won't be snowing in the dome, so I'm back on Hiliare here. He's not going to break the slate again, but he should be back to a baseline of eight receptions. That's 16 in captain's points!

Other Captains: Kordell David, New Mexico State ($10,800)

DFS Flex Plays

Tyrone Broden, WR, Bowling Green ($9,600)

I don't trust the volatility of Matt McDonald at all, but I'm content to roll with his receivers. Broden is the guy that has the massive upside of longer touchdown passes. Hiliare gets the free points. Broden has four touchdowns in the last four games, including a 44-yarder against Ohio.

Christian Sims, WR Bowling Green ($6,600)

Yes, he's the third receiver on the team, but Sims has possibly been the most consistent receiver for the Falcons this season. I wouldn't use all of the Bowling Green receivers, but if you find yourself a bit short on cash, I don't mind pairing Sims with either Broden or Hiliare.

Jamoni Jones, RB, New Mexico State ($6,200)

Jones plays mostly on rushing downs with Star Thomas being the better pass catcher. This is a committee backfield, but Jones has had more meaningful carries lately. Four of his seven touchdowns have come in the last four games. Neither Aggies back is a sure thing, but I prefer the consistency of Jones, especially compared to the price of Thomas.

Other Flex Options: Taron Keith, Bowling Green ($7,800); Jonathan Brady, New Mexico State ($6,000)

DFS Value Plays

Jaison Patterson, RB, Bowling Green ($5,600)

Patterson still shares the backfield with Taron Keith even though Keith hasn't logged a carry in the last two games. He is in there mostly on passing downs, leaving most of the carries to Patterson. Neither back is much of a burner, but Patterson's sheer number of touches at this price makes him very intriguing.

Harold Fannin, WR, Bowling Green ($5,200)

Fannin is going to catch two passes – he has caught exactly two in each of the last six games. What will he do with them? That's anyone's guess. However, the Falcons have used him out of the backfield on occasion, adding to his upside. He has poached a couple of Patterson's touchdowns. He's more a GPP dart, but Fannin is definitely an interesting option.

Other Value Plays: Ethan Albertson, New Mexico State ($4,200)
