DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks (1/9/17): NBA DFS Advice

The top DraftKings daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for 1/9/17 by Tom Vecchio. Expert NBA DFS advice, sleepers & player recommendations for DraftKings.

We have an extremely small three game slate to kick off the week. With such a small slate, that means the options at each position are going to be limited and there will be some big price gaps between players. You still should be able to put together some nice lineups and have a shot at either cash games or GPPs. So sit back, read up, and let's win some contests.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 1/9/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays on DraftKings. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @DFS_Tom.

DraftKings DFS Guards

Derrick Rose - PG, vs NO ($5,800)

Derrick Rose's price has dropped $700 over the past week or so and I think this is a time to buy low on him. His production is consistent, but isn't too high. Over the past four games, he has had two games of 24 points and two games of 26 points. So you basically know exactly what you are going to be getting from him. He isn't the first or second option on offense for the Knicks, so his scoring has taken a backseat. With that said, he can still hit value for you, especially if you are looking for some savings in a cash game. He doesn't have the ceiling he use to have, but a solid 25 points can never hurt. He is also up against the Pelicans who are third worst in the league when it comes to guarding point guards.

Victor Oladipo - SG, @ CHI ($6.300)

Oladipo has seen consistent production over the last four games, as he has scored 29 DraftKings points or more in all four. He often gets over looked on the Thunder due to Westbrook, and the emerging Steven Adams. He is the benefactor of playing in a high tempo offense and will see his looks. Since this is such a small slate tonight, I see him as an option for cash or GPP. The options are limited, and knowing you are going to get around 30 points, has my vote of confidence. He is also up against the Bulls who are giving up 40 points per game to shooting guards.

DraftKings DFS Forwards

Jimmy Butler - SG/SF, vs OKC ($9,300)

Jimmy Butler aka Jimmy Minutes aka Jimmy Buckets, has been on fire lately. He has put up three games of 40 real points or more in his last six. He has three game of 50 DraftKings points or more in his last four. The man simply can't be stopped recently, and with a match up vs Thunder he is in a good spot in what should be a high scoring game. For the Bulls, Jimmy Butler is the main option. I know there are other stars on the team, but that is his team. He is a great option for GPPs, and really should get you around 50 points. The Thunder are giving up 40 points per game to small forwards.

Gorgui Dieng - PF, vs DAL ($5,700)

Dieng is a really solid option tonight, and I think he is a bit under priced for his production. He has four straight games of 29 points or more and is up against the Mavericks who are good on defense vs the power forward, only giving up 42 points per game, which is sixth best in the league. Even though they are good on defense, Minnesota has several options on offense, and Dieng often gets over looked and ends up with easy looks. He has played 38 minutes or more in three of his last four games, and minutes equals production, so lock him in tonight.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Steven Adams - C, @ CHI ($6,00)

Adams is really coming into his own this year, and his production offensively and defensively has stepped up. Four straight games of 30 DraftKings points or more, with double digit real points in four of his last five. He has some real nice upside since he can easily hit a double double, and gets a good amount of blocks, 10 blocks over the last four games. Adams is a better option for cash games, since his ceiling is limited being on the same team as Russell Westbrook

Also consider: Anthony Davis - PF/C @ NY ($11,100)
