Welcome to the Sunday, August 18th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.

Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.

In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on August 18th. Enjoy them. • For fear of being left behind, Christian Yelich joins the boys at 41.
• Kris Bryant w/87.6mph exit velo, better than last two years, not as good as the first two (89.5mph). Brls%(9.4) is career-low.
• Gleyber Torres mashes two. SS shelves are stocked.
• The demand for mediocrity is running wild in MLB. Too many teams stuck in the status quo.
• Kyle Seager remembers his power-stroke. 9HR, 19, .294AVG(2nd half)
• Bo Bichette w/fifth sultry swat. Caught stealing four times, but I don’t care. Run Bo Run.
• Austin Nola w/catcher eligibility. Easy money w/ton of at-bats.
• Chris Bassitt w/win vs Astros. San Fran next should be childs play.

• Was Nick Senzel overhyped due to potential? Still 10HR/10SB. Maybe some discount in 2020 leagues.

• Well, look at that. Trent Grisham homered off a southpaw.
• Trea Turner makes a statement, “I will still be a first-round pick in 2020.”
• Josh Hader w/more HR allowed(13) than last two years combined.
• Eduardo Rodriguez joins 14-Win club. No, he hasn’t arrived yet, but he’ll get priced up next year.
• Another fan swoons as Rafael Devers sends long-distance lovin’(26).
• Great pitching + run support = Jacob deGrom win. Yes, we have it figured out now.
• Seth Lugo gets third save. A sigh of relief falls over the crowd as Diaz is absent.
