Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks (10/23/17): NBA DFS Advice for FanDuel, DraftKings

After a limited Sunday slate, the NBA returns on Monday with eight games to whet your appetite.

The DFS lineup picks for 10/23/17 will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Let's not waste any time and jump right in!

DFS Guards to Consider

James Harden - SG/PG vs. MEM ($11,200 DK, $11,300 FD)

Let's get the most obvious one out of the way. James Harden is averaging 28 points and nine assists this season and plays on a team that likes to put up a lot of points. Harden has also been letting them fly from beyond the arch and currently leads the league with 14 which makes him a better DraftKings option.

Giannis Antetokounmpo - PG/SF/PF vs. CHA ($10,900 DK, $12,100 FD)

If you are going to have Giannis Antetokounmpo in your lineup on Monday night, be prepared to cut corners somewhere else, especially if you are playing FanDuel contests. However, he is worth every penny and is averaging 38 points this season which is absolutely crazy. The "Greek Freak" looks better than he did last season, which is scary, and is the early favorite for Most Valuable Player.

Stephen Curry - PG/SG @ DAL ($8,700 DK, $9,200 FD)

Keep an eye on Steph Curry's status for Monday night as there is a chance that he faces a suspension for hitting an official with his mouthpiece on during Saturday's game against Memphis, resulting in his ejection. In any event, the Mavericks are obviously in rebuilding mode and struggling handily already. In addition, they are struggling to defend the three, making Curry a nice option for Monday night.

J.J. Barea - PG/SG vs. GS ($5,000 DK, $5,000)

J.J. Barea has seen his price slowly creep up over the past few games, and with good reason, and could be a efficient option if you start getting strapped for cash. With Seth Curry out and Dennis Smith possibly out on Monday night, Barea has the chance to put up some fantasy points. However, he loses some appeal if Smith, who is a game time decision with a leg injury, is able to play.

Other guards to consider: John Wall, Bradley Beal, Klay Thompson, Reggie Jackson, Buddy Hield, De'Aaron Fox, Kelly Oubre, Will Barton

DFS Forwards to Consider

Kevin Durant - SF/PF @ DAL ($9,600 DK, $10,200 FD)

Kevin Durant will see his value skyrocket is Steph Curry indeed doesn't play on Monday night. However, since Dallas is so crappy this season, there is a chance that we could see a blowout which could mean that Durant could find himself sitting early.

Nikola Jokic - PF/C vs. WSH ($8,900 DK, $8,600 FD)

We are looking at the potential highest scoring night between two teams that like to play fast. With Markieff Morris out with a hernia, Washington is lacking big men who may not be able to keep up with the size and physicality of Nikola Jokic. The guy is a monster and has a chance to put up some fantasy numbers against a smaller Wizards team.

LaMarcus Aldridge - PF vs. TOR ($8,500 DK, $8,800 FD)

LaMarcus Aldrige has stepped up to the plate in the absence of Kahwi Leonard and appears to be back to the Portland version of himself since signing the mega three-year extension just a few weeks ago. He is averaging a double-double per game this season and in my option, is underpriced considering what he has brought to the table thus far.

Ben Simmons - PF @ DET ($7,700 DK, $8,000 FD)

You may as well hand Ben Simmons the Rookie of the Year award because he is on an absolute rampage this season. He's averaging a double-double this season by way of 15 points and 10 boards and would make a great addition to any DFS roster, especially at those prices.

Other forwards to consider: Draymond Green, Paul Millsap, Willie Cauley-Stein, Otto Porter, Serge Ibaka, Zach Randolph, Wilson Chandler, Skal Labissiere,  Jakob Poeltl

DFS Centers to Consider

Joel Embiid - PF/C @ DET ($8,200 DK, $8,500)

Joel Embiid has opened the season under a minutes restriction and though he hasn't touched 30 minutes yet this season, he still is averaging 14 points, 13 boards and nearly two blocks per game. Imagine his stats when he starts to see a full workload? He sat out against Toronto on Saturday since he hasn't been cleared for consecutive games but he should be good to go on Monday night.

Dwight Howard - C @ MIL ($6,700 DK, $7,400)

When I saw that the Hornets signed Dwight Howard and were paying him $23 million per year, I thought that they were losing their minds in Charlotte. However, things appear to be working out thus far as Howard is averaging 15 points and 15 boards per game. He isn't a bad way to go on Monday night.

Other centers to consider: Andre Drummond, Frank Kaminsky
