Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks (10/22/17): NBA DFS Advice For FanDuel, DraftKings

FanDuel DraftKings daily fantasy basketball

Dennis Clausen's top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for 10/22/17. Expert NBA DFS advice, sleepers & player recommendations for FanDuel and DraftKings.

The NBA features a three game slate in case you have some time between NFL games. In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 10/22/17.

The DFS lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays on DraftKings.

Let's not waste any time and jump right in!

DFS Guards to Consider

Russell Westbrook - PG, OKC vs. MIN ($11,300 FD, $11,500 DK)

Do we really need to explain this one? For those who have been either in a coma or living under a rock for the past few years, I will fill you in and inform you that Russell Westbrook is arguably the best player in the world. After scoring 21,10 and 16 against the New York Knicks, he fizzled somewhat against the Jazz. We can go ahead and ignore the six points that he had against Utah, who often plays as a boringly slow pace, and chalk that up as a bad performance, which he is entitled to every once in a while. Let's not dismiss the fact that Minnesota is having issues defending point guards this season or that DraftKings rewards bonuses for triple-doubles either. I'll have Westbrook in my lineup on Sunday, will you?

Dennis Schroder PG, ATL @ BKN ($8,800 FD, $7,700 DK)

Dennis Schroder has the misfortune of being the key offensive figure on a pretty crappy Atlanta Hawks team. Forget the fact that they are 1-1 because by the end of the season, they will likely be 20-62 and be playing for ping pong balls. Schroder was good last season when they actually had a few other offensive weapons but now that they are all gone and the Hawks are in rebuild mode, the burden to provide some scoring rests on his and Dewayne Dedmon's hands (OK, I was actually kidding about Dedmon). Brooklyn is a horrible defensive team that likes to play fast and as a result, Schroder would make a fine addition to any DFS squad on Sunday.

D'Angelo Russell - PG, BKN vs. ATL ($7,600 FD, $7,600DK)

We will stick with the Brooklyn and Atlanta game and highlight D'Angelo Russell as another efficient DFS option. Like the Hawks, the Nets are also garbage. However, Russell is playing at a different level since coming over from Los Angeles and is averaging nearly 24 points per game. Without injury-prone point guard Jeremy Lin, who is out for the rest of the season (what a surprise), Russell will get more of an opportunity to put up some numbers. If you follow Vegas, which you should, this matchup is slated to be the highest scoring contest of the day. I like Russell, especially in FanDuel.

Other guards to consider: Allen Crabbe, Jordan Clarkson, Kent Bazemore, Spencer Dinwiddie

DFS Forwards to Consider

Anthony Davis - PF, NOP @ LAL ($11,500 FD, $10,600 DK)

We really don't need to get into details on this one. The Pelicans are playing the Lakers and Anthony Davis is good. Do we need to say anything more? Put him in your lineup.

Jimmy Butler - SG/SF MIN @ OKC ($8,700 FD, $7,400)

Jimmy Butler is listed as a shooting guard on DraftKings and small forward on FanDuel so take your pick in which section to put him in. In any event, this may be a little riskier pick since he will more than likely be matched up against Andre Roberson, who has a habit of making a lot of people look bad. However, Butler should still do alright and always has the potential to break out for effective fantasy performances whenever he steps on the court.

Paul George - SF, OKC vs. MIN ($8,400 FD, $8,000 DK)

You can't really go wrong by putting Paul George into your DFS lineup. The guy has been a monster since arriving in OKC, averaging 25 points and 6 boards throughout the first two games of the season. There really isn't anything more to I can write to convince you that he is a fantastic option on Sunday, especially at these asking prices.

Andrew Wiggins - SF/SG MIN @ OKC ($6,300 FD, $6,400)

Andrew Wiggins is dually listed as both a small forward as well as a power forward on DrafKings so you will have the luxury of playing around with your lineup a bit. As mentioned previously, Andre Roberson may be matched up against Jimmy Butler, and rightfully so, giving Wiggins some breathing room to get his shots off on Sunday. OKC has also been having issues this season defending the three spot which makes Wiggins a cheaper, more efficient fantasy option on Sunday.

Other forwards to consider: Brandon Ingram, DeMarre Carroll, Trevor Booker, Carmelo Anthony, Dante Cunningham

DFS Centers to Consider

DeMarcus Cousins - C, NOP @ LAL ($11,500 FD, $10,400 DK)

DeMarcus Cousins is going up against a Los Angeles team that gives up the fifth-most amount of fantasy points to opposing centers. Boogie is an absolute beast and if you get past his ugly, grouchy disposition, the guy plays beautifully. He is averaging 32 points, 12 boards and nearly four blocks this season. He is worth every penny.

Brook Lopez - C, LAL vs. NOP ($7,500 FD, $6,200 DK)

Brook Lopez isn't a bad player, he just has had the bad luck of playing on a jabroni team throughout his career. He has found his rhythm since arriving in Los Angeles and is a nice option considering the price. He has also been working on his long range shot over the past few years which makes him a better DraftKings pick considering their scoring system.

Other centers to consider: Dewayne Dedmon, Mike Muscala
