ANALYSIS: When the New York Mets optioned pitcher Christian Scott to Triple-A on May 31, it was a move that caught fantasy managers by surprise. After all, Scott looked promising on the mound in the first five starts of his career. The right-hander owned a 3.90 ERA and 25 strikeouts across 27 2/3 innings pitched.
However, with the Mets not needing a sixth starter in their rotation, they decided to send Scott down. The move to option the 25-year-old wasn't the worst news for fantasy managers. He was likely going to be on an innings limit later in the year, so sending him to Triple-A now could prevent some type of limitation down the stretch. Since being optioned 15 days ago, MLB Pipeline's No. 55 overall prospect has allowed just two runs in two starts across 8 2/3 IP.

When Scott gets called up again remains to be seen. Mets manager Carlos Mendoza did say that the right-hander will remain at the Triple-A level for the time being. Still, the young pitcher is worth stashing in most 12-plus team leagues, given what fantasy managers saw from him in his first five starts this season.
