Kansas City Chiefs - NFL Betting Analysis

This year, the Chiefs are hoping to take the next step, after falling in the AFC Championship Round to the Cincinnati Bengals by a score of 27-24. During the regular season, the Chiefs posted a record of 12-5, making them the Champions of the AFC West.

As the Chiefs take on the Cardinals, they will hope for a big game from last year's 4th ranked offense. Last season's unit averaged 28.2 points per game. This week, Kansas City will face off against last year's 11th-rated scoring defense. In the 2021-2022 season, they scored an average of 33.67 points per game against teams that finished in the middle third of the league in points allowed.

In this week's matchup vs Arizona, the Kansas City Chiefs will look to establish the run. Last year's team finished ranked 16th in overall rushing yards. For the season, Kansas City outrushed their opponent in 41.0% of their games.

Leading into this week's matchup, Kansas City will once again roll with Patrick Mahomes in his 6th season in the league. For the year, Mahomes started all 17 regular season games for the team. His overall passing yards of 4,839 placed him 4th among other NFL quarterbacks.

Defensively, the Chiefs were one of the top units in the NFL, giving up just 21.4 points per game, good for 8th in the league. This week, Kansas City will face off against last year's 11th-ranked scoring offense. In the 2021-2022 season, they allowed an average of 24.17 points per game to teams that finished in the middle third of the league in scoring.

Arizona Cardinals - NFL Betting Analysis

the Arizona Cardinals head into the season looking to make another appearance in the playoffs. Last year's team ended the year with a 34-11 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the Wild Card round. For the 2021-2022 regular season, the Arizona Cardinals posted a record of 11-6-0, good for 2nd in the NFC West.

Arizona heads into the season looking to once again have one of the top scoring offenses in the league, as their per game average of 26.4 ranked 11th in the league. The Cardinals will have a tough matchup in this week's game, as Kansas City finished 8th in points allowed last year. Looking back to last year, Arizona averaged 24.4 points per game against top 10 defensive units.

On offense, the 2021-2022 Arizona Cardinals finished the year with a yards per play figure of 5.6, good for 14th in the NFL. In total, Arizona surpassed their season average in yards per play in 53.0% of their games.

In week 1, Arizona starter Kyler Murray will be kicking off his 4th Season season in the league. For the season, Murray played in a total of 14 games for Arizona. Overall, he finished 14th in passing yards with a total of 3,787.

Defensively, the Cardinals were one of the top units in the NFL, giving up just 21.5 points per game, good for 11th in the league. Overall, the team's defense gave up at least 21.5 points in 53% of their contests.

Today's NFL Betting Pick - Chiefs vs. Cardinals

Kansas City comes into the game looking to continue their recent success over Arizona, as they have won 2 of their last 3 matchups. Across the last 3 games, the teams combined to average 38.34 points. Kansas City and Arizona did not play each other in the 2021-2022 regular season.

Going back to the 2021-2022 regular season, the Chiefs put together an ATS record of 8-9. Like Kansas City's overall record vs the spread, their road ATS mark of 4-4 was near the league average. Last year, the Chiefs were favored 9 times by more than -5.5, finishing with an ATS record of 5-4. Kansas City ended these games with a scoring differential of +12.78 points.

Last season, the Cardinals covered the spread in over half of their games, putting together an ATS record of 10-7. Despite the team's overall success vs the spread Arizona was less impressive at home, covering at a rate of just 25.0%. The team's strong performance vs the spread came while being favored in 11 of their games.

In the 2021-2022 season, Chiefs finished with an over-under record of 10-6-1. Overall, the team was responsible for 57.0% of the scoring in their games. In addition, Kansas City scored over half of the points in games that finished over the posted betting line.

When looking at their over-under record, Arizona finished with a mark of 8-9. When playing at home, the Arizona Cardinals finished the season averaging 22.75 points per game, a slight decrease from their season average of 26.4. Overall, the team's defense gave up an average of 21.53 points per game, slightly better than their home figure of 24.5.

Recommended ATS Betting Pick: Chiefs -5.5

Recommended OU Betting Pick: Over 53.5
