ANALYSIS: After a rough rookie campaign in 2023, New York Mets third baseman Brett Baty is off to a great start in 2024. Baty hit just .212 with nine home runs and 34 RBI across 108 games last year. This season has been a completely different story for him at the plate.
Baty has been a surprise bat for the Mets in the early going. He is slashing .315/.362/.389 with one home run and nine RBI in 58 plate appearances. The 24-year-old has also tallied a hit in 12 of the 15 games he has played this season, making him a reliable fantasy contributor.

At this point, Baty is worth a waiver wire add in 12-plus team leagues. He is a former top-25 prospect and has a guaranteed role in New York’s lineup every day. There is a real chance we are seeing a breakout campaign from the young third baseman, so pick him up now before your league mates do.
