Charles Howell III has shown the ability to put enough holes together to do well at the Sony Open. Last year, he closed out with a 64 to finish 19th rather unexpectedly. That unexpectedly is because typically there were too many tournaments where the American did not close well. Last season, he had one top-ten at The Players' Championship (t-9th) but a half dozen missed cuts as well. This is because Howell III never got into a rhythm. His stats showed it. At Wai'alae one has to approach greens well and he ranked 177th overall but was in the top-30 last year on the course. Howell III may again prove formidable this weekend if he can again string the holes together. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
