Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy wrote his name into history on Thursday, picking up his 63rd win of the calendar year with a 2-1 result against Ottawa. Marc-Andre Fleury had been the previous record holder with 62 wins from 2009. Vasilevskiy has gone 63-21-4 overall in 2021 during regular-season and playoff action. He improved to 16-4-3 for the current campaign with a 25-save effort. The Russian now leads the league in goalie wins ahead of Toronto's Jack Campbell, and he's unbeaten in six outings this month despite Tampa having taken a lot of hits from the injury bug.--Taavi Pailk
