New York Rangers netminder Igor Shesterkin fended off 40 of 41 shots to defeat the Toronto Maple Leafs 2-1 in overtime Monday. Shesterkin was able to keep his cool and stop eight shots from the stick of Maple Leaf's superstar Auston Matthews. The Russian netminder is off to an excellent start sporting a 2-0-1 record with a 1.62 goals-against-average and a .949 save percentage. He will be the number one goalie between the pipes for the Rangers for the second year in a row.
