3 years agoOakland Athletics outfielder Starling Marte (lat) was held out of Monday's game against the Seattle Mariners. According to Athletics manager Bob Melvin, Marte is dealing with left lat soreness. He received some treatment on the injury on Monday. It isn't quite clear at this point how severe the injury is. Seth Brown got the start in center field on Monday and could continue to man the position if Marte misses additional time. Marte has been fantastic since being acquired from the Miami Marlins prior to the trade deadline. Over 52 games with the Athletics, he's slashing .317/.359/.466 with five home runs, 23 stolen bases, 29 RBI and 34 runs.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
