Erik Jones won the Daytona summer race three years ago coming from 29th. He followed that qualifying 28th then nearly winning the Daytona 500 in 2019. After that, it went south. This year, Jones switched from Joe Gibbs Racing to Richard Petty Motorsports. He crashed out of the Daytona 500 like last year's summer race. That is the risk with this track. In last summer's race, Jones actually led 15 laps before his unfortunate crash with about 13 laps to go. So, there is a chance the No. 43 could get to the front or near-front of the pack. However, there is always the possibility of impact.--Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
