Daily Fantasy Baseball Streamers - Waiver Wire Picks for Friday 8/6

Top daily fantasy baseball streamers and waiver wire adds for 8/6/21. Mike Marteny identifies MLB hitters and starting pitchers to stream based on matchups.

Welcome to another edition of our daily fantasy baseball streamers! Are you playing in leagues with daily moves and looking to beef up those rosters? We here at RotoBaller are there for you and all of your streaming needs. Whether you are just trying to get that elusive category win or you are trying to make up for a lackluster start by Framber Valdez against the hopeless Twins last night, we can help. Each day, RotoBaller will provide you with some of the best streaming options to consider in both shallow and deep fantasy baseball daily leagues. Streaming hitters and pitchers to exploit matchups are important to help you win your league.

It is important to know your league if you're going to stream. I'm not just talking about which teams your leaguemates root for. I'm talking about whether strikeouts count against you for hitters or if fielding stats are included. Most importantly, you need to know how many transactions you have per week. You don't want to blow your allotment within a couple of days. You can also use these recommendations to help build your DFS lineups. This article will use rostered percentages and position eligibility from ESPN leagues.

We have ten pitchers going that are rostered in more than 90% of ESPN leagues. Four more are owned in more than half of leagues. That leaves us with about half of the pitchers going today to choose from, many of them former All-Stars. Do any of them make the cut? We'll check that after we take a look at the hitters.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Hitter Streamers for 8/6 - Shallow Leagues

Kolten Wong (2B, LHB, MIL) - 48.2% Rostered

Matchup: vs. SF RHP Logan Webb

Wong has at least one hit in all but two of his 16 games since the break. He is hitting .308 in that span with a homer, seven RBI, and 13 runs scored while batting leadoff for Milwaukee with a pair of steals. Wong hit .350 in June before landing on the IL and didn't miss a beat when he came back. Wong hit .315 in July, but he has yet to rediscover his June power surge. It you need runs or average though, Wong is your man.

Kyle Farmer (2B/SS/3B, RHB, CIN) - 42.8% Rostered

Matchup: vs. PIT RHP JT Brubaker

Few players on any team worldwide are hitting like Farmer is right now. Farmer has at least one hit in 12 of his last 13 games. He is hitting .453 with three homers, seven RBI, and 13 runs scored in that span. The Reds have moved him right in front of Joey Votto, who homered in seven straight about a week ago (and hit another last night). You can bet Farmer is going to keep getting a ton of pitches to hit in front of Votto as long as he stays hot.

Jarred Kelenic (OF, LHB, SEA) - 38.5% Rostered

Matchup: at NYY LHP Wandy Peralta

This is a bullpen game for the Yankees, so I'm not worried about them opening with a lefty. Why in the world would we pick up a guy batting a buck-thirty-eight anyway? That just highlights how badly Kelenic was struggling before he was exiled back to Triple-A Tacoma in June. Kelenic has five hits in 19 August at-bats with a pair of homers, three RBI, and three runs scored this month. He is finally getting comfortable in the majors. Pick him up while you still can.

Rafael Ortega (OF, LHB, CHC) - 27.6% Rostered

Matchup: vs. CWS RHP Lance Lynn

Ortega has at least one hit in seven straight games batting leadoff for the Cubs. He is hitting .448 with four homers, nine RBI, and ten runs scored in that span. He has scored a run in every game during the streak, had a four-hit game against the Nationals, which also happened to be a three-homer game. With as hot as he is right now, I think he still gets a little something off of Lynn.

Hitter Streamers for 8/6 - Deeper Leagues

Austin Nola (C, RHB, SD) - 18.5% Rostered

Matchup: vs. ARI LHP Caleb Smith

The Padres have been using Nola sparingly since his return from the IL on July 23. That's how he has quietly put together a five-game hitting streak in which he is hitting .500 with a run scored and five RBI. He only has one homer in 68 at-bats this year, but he did hit ten homers in 267 at-bats in 2019. That power should be coming back soon. If not, we still have nice RBI totals and a hot bat to fall back on.

Aledmys Diaz (2B/3B/OF, RHB, HOU) - 16.3% Rostered

Matchup: vs. MIN RHP Bailey Ober

Diaz had his seven-game hit streak since his return from the IL snapped last night by the Twins, of all teams. It was a fluke. There's no way this bullpen collars him again. Diaz hit fifth last night and should continue to occupy a nice spot in this order. Diaz has three homers, eight RBI, and seven runs scored in eight games since his return. I'll have a lot of him against this pitching staff all weekend long.

Asdrubal Cabrera (1B/3B, LHB, ARI) - 7.7% Rostered

Matchup: at SD LHP Ryan Weathers

This Arizona offense missed Cabrera. He has driven in nine runs in 11 games since his return from the IL. Five of those have come in the last four games, including his only homer since his return. Cabrera is heating up at the right time and will continue to occupy a good RBI spot in the middle of this lineup. You can do a lot worse in deep leagues.

Yadiel Hernandez (OF, LHB, WAS) - 5.5% Rostered

Matchup: at ATL LHP Kyle Muller

The Nationals made room for Yadiel just before the trade deadline. He has rewarded their faith in him with a eight-game hitting streak in which he is hitting .481 with two homers, seven RBI, and six runs scored. This park favors left-handed hitters, so I can see the hit streak continuing since the Braves haven't been letting Muller go more than five innings anyway.

Pitcher Streamers for 8/6 - Shallow Leagues

Logan Webb (RHP, SF) - 34.7% rostered

Matchup: at Milwaukee

Webb handled Houston his last time out, so I'm not afraid of the matchup. Webb has faced the Dodgers twice and the Astros in his last three starts and allowed a total of five runs in 17 innings. In the five starts since his return, Webb has allowed only six runs in 24 innings. The 19 strikeouts aren't setting the world afire, but Webb should help your ratios and get you a decent shot at a win if nothing else.

Kyle Muller (LHP, ATL) - 24.1% rostered

Matchup: vs. Washington

This Nationals lineup is a little watered down without Trea Turner in it. That's good news for Muller. Muller has allowed just eight runs in his 29.2 innings this season while racking up 13 strikeouts. The ratios are well above average, the opponent is below average, and the strikeouts are above average as well. What's not to like?

Pitcher Streamers for 8/6 - Deeper Leagues

Matt Manning (RHP, DET) 5.5% rostered

Matchup: at Cleveland

Manning had the worst outing of his young career in Cleveland back on June 28. Since then, Manning has allowed 11 runs in 24.1 innings while striking out 14. He needs to limit the walks and has done a better job of not giving up hard hit balls. That limits the amount of damage done to him. I'm thinking he gets revenge on the Tribe here. Aside from a forgettable outing against the Twins a couple of weeks ago, Manning hasn't allowed more than two runs in the other four of his last five starts.
