Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Bailey Ober will start Friday's game against the Houston Astros. Veteran Matt Shoemaker was originally slated to pitch the contest, though the Twins appear to have demoted the veteran, who is in the midst of the worst season of his career. Ober has pitched eight innings and owns a 5.63 ERA with an 8:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 2021. The 25-year-old possesses strikeout upside, though he'll have his hands full Friday against an Astros' lineup that has posted the lowest strikeout rate in addition to ranking first in batting average and OPS this season.--Tim Capurso
