Billy McKinney Batting Cleanup In Mets Debut
New York Mets outfielder Billy McKinney will bat cleanup in his debut with the team against the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday. McKinney was acquired in a trade with the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday. The Mets sent left-handed pitcher Pedro Quintana to Milwaukee in exchange for McKinney. Over 40 games with the Brewers this year, McKinney slashed .207/.260/.359 with three home runs, six RBI and nine runs. The injury-riddled Mets are very much in need of a healthy outfielder right now. McKinney should see semi-regular playing time at least in the short-term. The fact that he's slotting in as the cleanup hitter in his first game is an encouraging development. He's worth monitoring for fantasy managers in deep leagues and NL-only leagues.
