Martin Truex Jr. had the pole on Sunday and even led 107 laps but in the end, just did not have the car to win the Toyota Owners 400. However, he battled his way to a fifth-place finish securing valuable Cup Series points. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver was second in each of the two stages but fell back several places after his car kept getting tight.
